Success Celebration
On Saturday Jan 19th the Mayor of Lambeth presented Certificates of
Achievement to the students of Kip McGrath West Norwood Education
Centre.
Since opening on September 3rd 2007, students attending have made
huge strides forward. Andrea Redman, Centre Director, has been
delighted at the Centre’s success so far.
“Students arrive having lost confidence in themselves, by working
at their pace and at their level they soon regain their enthusiasm
for learning.”
Students begin with a free assessment of their Maths and English
skills. A learning programme specific to them is drawn up which
uses a range of activities during sessions. This keeps students
stimulated and enthusiastic, undertaking computer tasks, worksheets
and practical activities.
“I’ve been moved up to the top maths group,” one 14 year old shared
recently.
“The teacher asked a question, I was the only one to put my hand up
and I got it right!” a GCSE student told me.
“Now I’m in the top Literacy group!” an eight-year-old student
said.
Parents were delighted to see how the leap in faith taken in
sending their children to the Centrre has paid off. As the first
Kip McGrath centre in South London, followed by the recently opened
centre in Lee we were initially an unknown quantity. Over 1 million
students have attended the 600 Kip McGrath centres worldwide and
over 230 centres in the UK. The system was developed in Australia
and has seen 30 years of success.
“Our GCSE and SATs students are all heading for good results. It’s
not too late – we have places available and a fantastic system to
give students the best possible advantage. Parents can phone for a
free assessment on 0800 5300 375.
