My Far Eastern Trip

My Far Eastern Trip

My mum, dad and I went to the Far East for our summer holiday. We went to Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia. I loved it! The people, the food, the scenery and the hotels were nice.
Malaysia:
Our flight from London to Malaysia was a thirteen hour flight. It was a busy flight. When I got off the plane, the air was humid and hot. My first hotel in Malaysia was Dorsett Regency and I really enjoyed staying there.
The Malaysian people were really friendly and their food was tasty & spicy. The weather was very hot. I was sweating a lot. The people are of mixed religion; Christianity, Islam, Hindu and Buddhism. My mum and I went to Batu Caves. Batu Caves is a Hindu temple built around 400 years ago. We had to walk up two hundred and seventy two steps to get to the temple in the caves. I felt very tired and queasy.
Thailand:
In Thailand, we stayed at Royal River hotel. The people were mainly Buddhist. There were a lot of temples, gods, statues and shrines. We went to the Royal Temple in Bangkok and saw the many images of Buddha including the ‘Sleeping Buddha’. The Sleeping Buddha is as big as a football pitch and covered in gold leaf. I also had the opportunity to talk and take photos of the monks. We went to the floating market outside Bangkok where I bought a Buddha from a lady who sold it from her boat. As we chugged along on our boat we saw a lot of school children on the boat
Indonesia:
My hotel in Indonesia was Aston Rasuna, it was a lovely hotel and again, The food was hot & spicy. I liked the look of the people. They were mostly Muslims. Many women wear hijabs went to Taman Safari Park and had a really great time. I’d like the animals
Cambodia:
My fourth hotel in Cambodia was Goldiana. The food was odd but nice and the scenery was great. We went to the killing fields, it was really distressing. As we was walking we saw bones in the soil and pot holes on the ground. There was a tour guide to take us around.
Vietnam:
My fifth hotel in Vietnam was Hanoi Street Hotel. It was a family run hotel. And the family who ran it was a mother and her daughter called Ziang (pronounced Sang). There was a lot of traffic on the street. It is a beautiful country. There was a lot of motorbikes on the road. Our hotel was in a quiet alley with a lot of shops. We had to cross the road in a weird way, to cross the road we had to stand in the road and the cars will either go around you or stop to let you cross.
Thailand (Phuket):
My sixth hotel was back in Thailand, (Phuket). And it was Patong Beach hotel. It was a beautiful Country the people were nice and we met lots of people. My dad was taking lots of photos in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Conclusion
My friends at school all liked to hear all about my fantastic holiday when I got back. My two favourite countries were Vietnam and Thailand the scenery was wonderful and the people were great.
