What
are Kip McGrath Education Centres?
Kip McGrath centres are recognised worldwide as centres of
excellence, supporting students to achieve in English and Maths. We
address reading, writing, spelling and grammar for children aged 6
to 16 and all areas of numeracy, algebra, money, time, measures,
again from 6 to 16.
How does it work?
A thorough assessment to start with means children can be placed
accurately onto the scheme so their needs can be catered for.
Students work on individualised programmes in small groups with
experienced and committed teachers to support and stimulate
them.
Why is it so successful?
Kip McGrath centres use a variety of methods to support students to
keep them interested and involved, using specially designed
computer programs, worksheets appropriate to their level and the
opportunity to practise skills so the child progresses as and when
they are ready, We aim to bring the fun and enthusiasm back into
education.
Who
needs Kip education?
Children in many different situations benefit from tuition, be it
illness or family upset, change of school, children from other
countries, children with specific learning difficulties or
behavioural problems. We also cater for those children who are
ahead of their class who need more, who are looking to take
entrance exams or achieve well in SATs and GCSEs.
Is there homework?
Homework is an important part of the process. It is relevant to the
student’s level and experience and encourages parents to
participate actively in their child’s learning.
Who
runs the Kip McGrath Education Centre West
Norwood?
Our centre manager, Andrea Redman, is a specialist in developing
and supporting children, encouraging success however difficult and
desperate the circumstance. She has experience with special
educational needs and behavioural problems of all kinds and has
taught for over 20 years in local schools. The decision to develop
this centre came from a desire and determination to support
children who are not succeeding, for whatever reason, within the
school system.
“I want my students to feel confident that they can succeed and to
enjoy the process of learning. Positive thinking is a powerful
force all children can feel. I was reminded by an ex-pupil that I
had taught them the sky was the limit, as a University student now
he wanted me to know that he and others had succeeded because of my
faith in them.”
Assessments are free, to arrange one call Andrea on 0800 5300
